Candidates for active membership ($325)
- hold a degree of Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine; and
- hold a valid and unrestricted license to practice medicine in Minnesota; and
- have completed board certification requirements in Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery by the American Board of Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery or by the Royal College of Surgeons or other medical specialty board acceptable to the Council of the Academy.
Candidates for allied membership ($200)
- hold a degree as a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner, and
- hold a valid and unrestricted license to practice in the state in which the provider's practice is located; and
- work in an otolaryngology office
Candidates for out of state active membership ($125)
- hold a degree of Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine; and
- hold a valid and unrestricted license to practice medicine in the state in which the physician’s practice is located; and
- have completed board certification requirements in Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery by the American Board of Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery or by the Royal College of Surgeons or other medical specialty board acceptable to the Council of the Academy.
Candidates for resident membership (free)
- All Residents in an otolaryngology training program in Minnesota are eligible for membership.
Candidates for retired membership (free)
- meet all the requirements for initial Active Membership to the Academy, and
- are retired from the active practice of medicine after having been an Active Member for at least ten years, or
- are 65 years of age or older, orHave been an Active Member of the Academy for at least thirty-five years regardless of retirement status.
