MAO Legislative Updates

We work closely with our lobbyist to ensure that our members have a voice at the Capitol on the issues directly impacting their practice and their patients. Visit here for the most recent legislative updates from our lobbyist, Eric Dick.

Session Wrap-Up

We have a great lobbyist in Eric Dick, but he can’t do it alone.  Grassroots advocacy can be one of the most effective tools that we have when it comes to influencing legislation at the state level.

Imagine the response we could get from our local legislators if they hear from constituents – voters – from their own district.  We occasionally ask our members to contact their legislators to ensure that they know the impact of proposed laws on patients and physicians.  We invite you to consider forming a relationship with your legislators prior to that ask.  Need help? Contact us - we’re here to help.

AAO-HNS Project 535

Successful legislative advocacy starts with a solid grassroots foundation. To ensure the message of otolaryngology-head and neck surgery is heard broadly on Capitol Hill, the AAO-HNS launched PROJECT 535. A Board of Governors-sponsored initiative, our goal is to recruit a "key contact" for each U.S. Senate and House Congressional seat to improve our outreach to federal legislators when major issues are debated by Congress. Sign-up today to join this exciting new program. The commitment is minimal, but the impact is immense!
